How to read the answer
A higher score only means the name math landed on a bigger number. The tier is a joke label, the shared-letter count is a fun coincidence stat, and none of it measures a real relationship. Treat 100% as excellent group-chat material and 4% as excellent group-chat material.
Common mistakes and edge cases
- Do not make any real decision with this score. It is a name game, not a relationship metric.
- Nicknames are different inputs: Alex + Taylor and Alexander + Taylor can score wildly differently, which is canon now.
- Accents are folded and punctuation is stripped, so Zoe and Zoë score identically while Zoe and Zoey do not.
- A 0% is not an insult and a 100% is not a prophecy - every score comes from the same uniform letter math.

Is the love calculator real or accurate?+
No. It is a deterministic name game with zero scientific validity. The score comes from letter math, not psychology, astrology, or any relationship research. Its only honest promise is that the same two names always get the same number.
How is the love percentage calculated?+
Both names are trimmed, lowercased, and stripped to letters. They are then sorted alphabetically, joined into one pair text, and run through a fixed string hash that maps to 0-100. No randomness, no hidden inputs, no science.
Why do I get the same score every time?+
On purpose. The scoring is deterministic, so results are stable and shareable. If your friend gets a different number for the same two names, one of you spelled something differently.
Does the order of the names matter?+
No. The names are sorted alphabetically before scoring, so Alex + Taylor and Taylor + Alex are the exact same matchup with the exact same score.
What does a low score mean?+
It means the letter math landed low, nothing more. Plenty of history's great couples would flunk this calculator, and several fictional disasters would ace it.
Should I use nicknames or full names?+
